ACCOMMODATION IN ERZURUM

As one of the tourism centers of Turkey, Erzurum has the honor of entertaining many tourists from home and abroad; it has a bed capacity of over 8000 together with the new establishments for accommodation.

A 5-star hotel on the Palandöken Skiing Centre will be used as the FISU Headquarters. The FISU team will stay at this hotel and all of their needs will be met in an environment of highest quality and comfort. The 5-star hotels on Mount Palandöken will be made available for the VIPs. The good-quality hotels on the Mount Palandöken will be prepared for the referees and experts as well.
           
The Universiade Village will be used for the accommodation of the athletes and officials. It has 8000 beds and includes a restaurant, a media centre, an accreditation centre, skating and training rinks. A room will be for two people and there will be necessary equipment and facilities that meet FISU standards in rooms. There will be all necessary units such as banks, bureaus and health centers, free internet facilities, markets, meeting halls, a police station and a post-office in the village.       

Athletes and officials who stay in the Universiade Village will be able to make use of such facilities as fitness centre, swimming pool, sports centers, art gallery, theatre and leisure centers at the university.

ABOUT ERZURUM CITY

Erzurum is one of the most important provincial centers in Turkey. Throughout its 6000 year-history, the city has been a significant economic, political and cultural center. Erzurum has been exposed to the world’s most important civilizations of different nations such as Persians, Romans, Byzantines, Seljuk Turks and Ottomans.
